Last night I was invited to attend a special meeting at the Grand Street Settlement, 80 Pitt Street, corner of Rivington. Across the street is the famous bodega near which two childtren had been shot by stray bullets, one week after another. I guess the neighborhood has had it up to here with illegal guns, because a good size crowd showed up. I'll file a report later on, but here are some of the images, so you'll get a general feel.

It was the first bllod drive sponsored by LoHo Realty, which back then was the official sponsor of the Grand Street News. I hovered and shot a lot of brave souls in rolled-up sleeves. Got a ton of them (and about 32 pints).
Fish & Mammaries
I'm not your most vulgar reporter/editor. On many occasions I've opted to turn my lens away from compromising images, because I work the G-rated racket. Which is why I was shocked to come home last week from the National take Back the Night celebrations on Rivington Street, and see the images I'd taken of the free goldfish dispensing booth. Specifically, that uninhibited chest on the upper-right corner. I was aiming at the fish, all the time, honest, but even I would sentence me to perve re-education on account of there being easily 12 similar exposure, same fish booth, same mammaries. I plead innocent.

I'm working on the story as we speak, but for now here are some priceless facial expressions from a man who's popularly considered a rather cool cucumber. I thought he was having fun.
