Greetings for a healthy, happy, and prosperous Lunar New Year! This year, New York City is abound with festivities to welcome the “Year of the Boar.” I’d like to personally invite you to the City Council’s celebration at City Hall.Lunar New Year Celebration @ City Hall, Council Chambers, Tuesday, February 13, 5:30 ~ 7:30 PM

Hosted by Speaker Christine Quinn and Council Members Alan Gerson, Robert Jackson, Sara Gonzalez, Vincent Gentile, and myself, this year’s celebration will feature cultural performances by the Chinatown Community Young Lions, the Taiwanese Senior Center Chorus, the Korean Ensemble, the Mott Street Senior Center, and the Thai Cultural Center of New York. The Council will also honor violist Mr. Richard Yongjae O’Neill, 2006 Grammy Nominee, recipient of the prestigious AveryFisher Career Grant, as well as the first and only violist to receive the prestigious Artist Diploma at the Julliard School of Music.

Please bring photo ID and arrive early to allow time for the security check into City Hall.
