This Thursday and Friday at The Mercury Lounge stop in to see (vocalist) Dan Le Sac Vs. Scroobius Pip (producer). They were on a ton of “best of 2007″ lists and now are making stops and spreading their sound across America. Over at Fat Baby is Wounded Buffalo Theory, an experimental apocalypse rock band out of Brooklyn.
Friday night is Roger McGuinn and Emily Brooke at the Abrons Art Center on Grand Street. McGuinn cut his teeth co-writing songs with Bobby Zimmerman, err Dylan, as founding member of the seminal 60’s band The Byrds. The band formerly known as Don’t Be Glib, is currently without a name, but they will be at The Bowery Poetry Club along with Evan Hilzer’s The Mixxtape. Maryboof, of Glib, will be taking name suggestions for the band so don’t be shy.
Saturday night finds Takka Takka at The Mercury Lounge sharing the stage with fellow Brooklynites Oxford Collapse, who recently signed to Sub Pop records. Expect an above average “indie” night of melodic pop rock. Also, both Echofission and Ape Fight are on the Rock’s Off crusies around the island which gotta be closing down for the winter soon. So if you haven’t seen those waterfalls yet…..
Sunday night it’s all about the connective tissue between jazz and Hip-hop over at NuBlu on Ave C. Napolean Maddox, rapper, thinker, beat-boxer, will be doing his swing along with Claire Daly. Also Pinback and Kylesa will be heading the bill at The Bowery Ballroom, for those more into rock then rap.

Johnathan,
Roger has never co written any songs with Mr Dylan !
